The Influence of the Internet on Daily Life

The Internet is now a massive part of everyday life. Whether it's getting the latest news and weather updates or chatting with with friends on sites like Facebook. The Internet now effects almost everyone's day to day life . In work places the Internet is used to send files or give briefs , this has speed up dramatically how fast work gets done . And socially it keeps people in touch with old friends who the possibly wouldn't here from otherwise.
Like all advances in technology , the Internet is useful but often becomes the subject of criticism . Social network sites have come under fire due to the fact that as much as they bring people together , they also push them apart . I mean its far more fun to go any meet friends rather than sit at home and speak to them online .
The Internet has also revolutionized the way we learn. You can find information on almost any topic online with out the need to search through library books. Saying that you'd probably learn a lot more actually reading the books then simply searching wikipedia .
Not matter what your opinion may be , the Internet is now a massive part of our lives and with it out things would probably be much different .

Chris Moyles catches up with Sir Terry

New radio figures revel that BBC Radio One Breakfast show host Chris Moyles is catching up with rival Radio Two Presenter and national treasure Terry Wogan . The recent figures show Chris notched up Moyles notched up an audience of 7.7m people, compared with Wogan's 7.78m listeners . The figures also show that radio listening in general is at the honestest its been in the past 10 years.

The BBC has a incredible amount of people tuning in . A recorded 46million listeners tuned in the first quater ogf 2009 . Thats 90% of all UK adults .

At least some tax money is being used for something the public actually give a damn about !

Another northerner is fired !

Phil Taylor ,a 29 year old from county Durham was the sixth contestant to be booted of the hit BBC show The Apprentice . The cocky Northerner got the boot after not making a single sale on the task. After the brash estate agent wound up in the final three, Sir Alan decided to fire him ahead of 27-year-old Walsh and 36-year-old Lorraine Tighe.

Through out the show Phil was known as being sure off him self and opinionated , but Sir Alan decided he'd had enough , claiming some one like Phil wouldn't fit in to his organization.

To added to this Lorraine raised the issue of Phil's flirtatious relationship with fellow contestant Kate Walsh claiming it was distracted him from the task in hand .

To be honest I'm a bit gutted about Phil getting the boot . His rants , flirting and lets not forget 'Pants Man' kept the show entertaining !

Big Brother Stars Link Swine Flu to Middlesbrough . . .

Chanelle Hayes and Chantelle Houghton were rushed for urgent medical tests this week , after concerns that they may have contracted swine flu. The big brother stars had been on holiday in Mexico when the deadly virus broke out, and it's now feared that Chanelle could have potentially spread the disease to the entire Middlesborough football team.

Chaneele is currently dating midfeilder Matthew Bates. If she is found to have the flu, it is very likely Bates will have it, and therefore the entire Boro squad would have to be checked out!

This swine flu is getting scarier . .

My Update ...

Thursday April 30th

I am currently stressing about the FMP! (final major project ) . We are doing a live show on may 11th . So, we need to start rehearsals as soon as possible . Everyone’s feeling the same way as me I think . We’ve finished doing the magazine cut out panels for the set . Which I’m practically proud of because it took days to cut out all those celebrities!. Finally reading gossip magazines came in useful .
This week has been so busy for me ! Not only am I rushing around trying to get as much work as possible finished I’m also trying to fit in as many driving lessons as possible . My test’s tomorrow . I hope I pass but trying not to get to excited so I’m not disappointed. Even if I fail I can still celebrate because it’s my 18th on Saturday .
I can’t wait for the live project to be over , cause then were just getting ready for the summer shows until the end of the year . I cant believe how fast these past two years have gone !!

Russel Brand joins in with G20 protests .

As everyone world leaders are gathering to discuss the state of the economy right here in England. And with this inevitably there was protests and demonstrations. Yesterday hundreds of protesters demonstrated in London's Finical District, many of the protests were peaceful , some even humorous, but some did turn nasty.

Comedian Russel Brand was spotted joining in with the peaceful protests. He mingled with fellow protesters outside the Bank of Scotland for several hours . He also gave a passionate statement saying 'I hope today will send a message that things need to change,'
'I'm glad to be part of this and hope the leaders of the world are listening to us.
'I'm here to observe and participate peacefully in the protest. 'I always come to these kind of things, I'm very interested. There's a great sense of community.
'I am interested in learning and interested in why these people have come to this. I think it's also very beautiful.'

Russel has often been spotted at protests throughout the years. In the demonstrations in May 2001 he was arrested for getting his kit off and standing on car , this time though he stayed fully clothed !

April 2nd update

Middlesbrough Apprentice is....Fired !

Local sandwich chain owner Rocky Andrews was the second apprentice to leave the hit BBC show The apprentice . On last night show , where the team had to do the catering for high- class business events, Rocky was the team leader for the boys side as he was the only one who had experience in the catering industry .
The 21 year former footballer was booted off after the team made a £200 loss- ouch ! This could have has something to do with the choice of dressing his team member s in togas and serve cheese and pickle on a stick .
Since the programme was aired Rocky has spoken out about the reason's he believed he was fired saying - ' I respect Sir Alan, but at the end of the day he's a southerner and he always seems to employ southerners."
Despite the toga's and cheese on stick's i personally believe the wrong person went, Rocky did a good job of taking charge of a team . And he is only 21 ! What a shame we don't get to watch this local boy compete in the rest of the series!
